Crichton College

Crichton College is a private, non-profit college located in Memphis, Tennessee. Founded in 1848, it is the oldest college in the city and one of the oldest historically black colleges in the United States. The college is named after William Crichton, a prominent African American leader and educator who was instrumental in establishing the school.

The mission of Crichton College is to provide quality higher education to individuals from diverse backgrounds who are interested in pursuing professional and personal success. The college offers bachelor’s degrees in business administration, computer science, criminal justice, education, engineering technology, health sciences and nursing. It also offers associate degrees and certificates for those interested in short-term educational goals.

Crichton College has an enrollment of over 1,000 students from various backgrounds and cultures. The student body is diverse with students from all over the world represented at the school. The student body also includes a large number of international students as well as veterans who have served their country proudly.

The college has a variety of student organizations that allow students to get involved on campus and be part of a community. These include academic clubs such as Alpha Phi Omega (APO), which focuses on service projects; cultural clubs such as African Student Union (ASU) which celebrates African culture; and social clubs such as the Black Student Union (BSU) which provides social activities for members.

Crichton College also provides its students with numerous opportunities to grow both personally and professionally through internships, research projects, study abroad programs and service learning experiences. In addition to these opportunities, Crichton also has an active career center that helps students explore potential career paths after graduation by providing resources such as job postings, networking events and career fairs.
