Dallas Theological Seminary

Dallas Theological Seminary (DTS) is a non-denominational evangelical theological seminary located in Dallas, Texas. Founded in 1924 by Lewis Sperry Chafer, it is known for its emphasis on expository preaching and dispensationalism. It offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees, including a Doctor of Ministry program.

DTS is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) and the Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada (ATS). It is also a member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA). DTS has four campuses in Dallas, Houston, Washington D.C., and Atlanta as well as an online campus.

The seminary's mission is to glorify God by equipping godly servant-leaders for the proclamation of His Word and the building up of the body of Christ worldwide. This mission statement is reflected in its curriculum which emphasizes biblical studies, theology, church history, missions and evangelism, apologetics, Christian education, pastoral ministry, counseling, spiritual formation and leadership development.

DTS offers several degree programs including Master of Arts (MA), Master of Theology (ThM), Doctor of Ministry (DMin), Doctorate in Educational Ministries (EdD), Graduate Certificate Programs (GCP), Certificate Programs for International Studies (CPIS) and Professional Certificate Programs (PCP). In addition to these degree programs DTS also offers courses for non-degree seeking students such as a Biblical Studies Certificate Program or a Graduate Diploma Program.

DTS also offers several resources to help students with their studies such as an online library with over 100 databases available to all students; an online bookstore that provides textbooks; alumni networks; student organizations; internship opportunities; career services; pastoral counseling services; free online classes; student life activities; financial aid options such as scholarships and grants; faculty mentoring programs; chapel services; retreats; conferences & seminars; study abroad opportunities; international student services & support groups.

At DTS students are encouraged to grow spiritually through weekly chapel services which feature guest speakers from around the world who bring a message from God’s Word that challenges them to live out their faith more fully. In addition to this spiritual growth there are many other opportunities available at DTS such as service projects & mission trips that allow students to put into practice what they have learned in their courses.
