Gordon College

Gordon College is a private, non-profit Christian college located in Wenham, Massachusetts. Founded in 1889 by Adoniram Judson Gordon, it is one of the oldest evangelical Christian colleges in New England. The college offers a range of undergraduate and graduate programs in the liberal arts and sciences, as well as professional studies.

The campus of Gordon College is situated on a 200-acre wooded hillside overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The campus includes academic buildings; residence halls; student activities centers; athletic facilities; and a library with more than 500,000 volumes. The college also has an observatory, which is open to the public for stargazing events throughout the year.

Gordon College is accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE). It has been ranked among the top 50 regional universities in the North by U.S. News & World Report since 1996 and was named one of America’s Best Colleges by Forbes magazine in 2016.

The college offers more than 70 undergraduate majors and minors across its four schools: School of Arts & Sciences, School of Business & Economics, School of Education & Social Sciences, and School of Nursing & Health Professions. Students can also pursue graduate degrees in education, business administration, nursing practice, counseling psychology and global studies through Gordon’s Graduate School of Arts & Sciences.

Outside of academics, Gordon College provides students with a variety of extracurricular activities to participate in such as clubs and organizations related to student government, religion/spirituality/philosophy, music/drama/arts/film/media/photography, service learning opportunities and intramural sports teams.

Gordon College has a vibrant spiritual life on campus with numerous opportunities for students to explore their faith through worship services including chapel services held three times per week during the academic year as well as small group Bible studies offered throughout the week at various locations on campus.

The college’s commitment to community service extends beyond its own campus walls into local communities near Wenham where students can volunteer their time with local organizations such as food pantries or homeless shelters or participate in service trips around the world to places like Africa or India.
