Jarvis Christian College

Jarvis Christian College is a historically black college located in Hawkins, Texas. Founded in 1912, the college was originally called Jarvis Christian Institute and was established by the Freedman’s Aid Society of the Methodist Episcopal Church. The college was named after Bishop John Jarvis, a prominent leader of the Methodist Episcopal Church.
