Louisiana College

Louisiana College is a private institution of higher education located in Pineville, Louisiana. Founded in 1906, it is the oldest college in the state and one of the few private liberal arts colleges in the region. It is affiliated with the Louisiana Baptist Convention and its curriculum is based on a Christian worldview. The college offers more than 50 undergraduate majors and several master's degrees.

The campus of Louisiana College covers more than 200 acres and includes 11 academic buildings, two student centers, three residence halls, an athletic complex, a library, and various other facilities. The college also has a satellite campus in Shreveport which houses its School of Nursing. The main campus offers a variety of student organizations and activities that include fraternities and sororities, intramural sports teams, clubs, honor societies, and student government organizations.

Louisiana College has an enrollment of about 1,000 students from around the world. Most students are from Louisiana but the college also attracts students from other states as well as international students from over 30 countries. The student-to-faculty ratio at Louisiana College is 13:1 which allows for a more personal learning experience. The faculty consists mostly of full-time professors who hold advanced degrees in their fields.

The academic programs at Louisiana College are divided into four divisions: Arts & Sciences; Business & Education; Health & Natural Sciences; and Social Sciences & Humanities. Undergraduate students can choose from over 50 majors ranging from accounting to mathematics to psychology to theology. In addition to traditional classes offered on campus, many courses are available online or through hybrid formats that combine online learning with on-campus instruction.

Louisiana College also offers numerous extracurricular activities including intramural sports teams such as volleyball and basketball, fraternities and sororities such as Alpha Gamma Delta and Sigma Phi Epsilon, honor societies such as Phi Beta Kappa and Sigma Alpha Lambda, service organizations like Circle K International and Rotaract Club of Pineville, student government organizations like Student Government Association (SGA) and Student Senate (SS), clubs like Chess Club or Anime Club; plus numerous other opportunities for involvement on campus or off-campus through volunteer work or internships with local businesses or non-profit organizations.

Louisiana College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). It is also affiliated with several professional organizations including the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE), National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC), Council for Accreditation of Counseling & Related Educational Programs (CACREP).
