Oklahoma Baptist University

Oklahoma Baptist University (OBU) is a private, Christian liberal arts university located in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Established in 1910, OBU is affiliated with the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma and offers a variety of undergraduate and graduate degree programs. The university's mission is to provide an education that integrates Christian faith, academic excellence, and service to God and humanity.

OBU's campus is located on 200 acres of land in Shawnee, Oklahoma. The campus features many historic buildings as well as modern facilities such as residence halls, academic buildings, recreational centers, and a library. The campus also features many outdoor areas such as a lake, walking trails, and athletic fields. OBU also has two satellite campuses located in Tulsa and Oklahoma City.

OBU offers more than 50 undergraduate majors across five different schools: the College of Arts & Sciences; the Warren M. Angell College of Fine Arts; the Paul Dickinson School of Business; the Don Crenshaw School of Education; and the Raley Chapel School of Ministry & Missions. Additionally, OBU offers several graduate degree programs including MBA degrees in both Accounting and Human Resource Management; Master’s degrees in Education; Counseling Psychology; Divinity; and Practical Ministry Leadership; along with Doctoral degrees in Educational Leadership (EdD) and Nursing Practice (DNP).

OBU has a variety of student organizations to join including honor societies, religious groups, fraternities/sororities, service organizations, sports clubs/intramurals, performing arts groups, student government associations (SGA), media outlets such as newspapers/radio stations/television studios/online publications/social media accounts/blogs etc., special interest clubs such as environmental or political action groups etc., career-focused organizations such as accounting or pre-law societies etc., and academic clubs such as debate teams or mathletes etc..

The university also provides many opportunities for students to get involved through volunteer work by joining one of its many service organizations or by participating in one of its community outreach initiatives such as Alternative Spring Break trips or Habitat for Humanity builds etc.. Additionally students can participate in international mission trips or internships with local businesses to gain valuable experience while still attending school.

OBU has an active alumni network with more than 20 chapters throughout the United States offering events and activities designed to help alumni stay connected with their alma mater. The university also hosts several events throughout the year including homecoming activities each fall semester along with other special events like Founders’ Day celebrations each spring semester.
