University Of Mary Hardin-Baylor

The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (UMHB) is a private Christian university located in Belton, Texas. Founded in 1845, it is the oldest university in the state of Texas and is affiliated with the Baptist General Convention of Texas. The university offers more than 80 undergraduate majors and minors, as well as master's degrees in business, education, and nursing. UMHB also has a Doctor of Nursing Practice program and a Doctor of Education program.

The university emphasizes its Christian heritage, with all students required to take Bible classes during their first two years at UMHB. The school also has a strong commitment to service learning and community engagement. In addition to traditional on-campus courses, UMHB also offers online courses and degree programs.

Located on over 200 acres of land in Central Texas, UMHB has five residence halls for its students. The campus also includes several academic buildings, athletic facilities, an auditorium, library, student center and chapel.

UMHB's athletic teams are known as the Crusaders and compete in NCAA Division III athletics. The school offers 16 varsity sports teams for men and women including football, basketball, baseball/softball, soccer, tennis, golf and volleyball.

The university also has numerous student organizations for its students to get involved with including honor societies like Phi Beta Kappa; religious organizations such as Cru; service groups such as Circle K International; social clubs like Gamma Sigma Sigma; performing arts groups such as the Chamber Singers; academic clubs like the Math Club; media organizations like the student newspaper The Bells; Greek life including fraternities such as Kappa Alpha Order and sororities such as Alpha Delta Pi; intramural sports teams like flag football; multicultural organizations like Hillel; special interest groups such as the Model United Nations club; professional organizations such as Accounting Society; honor societies like Mortar Board National Honor Society; service fraternities such as Alpha Phi Omega; international student associations such as International Student Association (ISA); political groups like College Democrats or College Republicans; recreational activities clubs like Outdoor Adventure Club (OAC); military groups such as Army ROTC or Air Force ROTC and many more!

UMHB is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). It was recently ranked #3 among regional universities in the West by U.S News & World Report’s Best Colleges rankings for 2021.
